The goal of York County Crime Stoppers, a non-profit organization, is to create a York that is safe and free of malicious people. Formed in 1987, Crime Stoppers has been actively making a difference. They make a conscious effort to halt wrongdoing and encourage civilians to assist law enforcement. Through anonymous tip lines and cash rewards as motivation, the Crime Stoppers have been eliminating crime by setting forward an initiative to develop a safer York for its citizens, using the citizens.

The York County Crime Stoppers get all the reward money from donations and fundraisers like bingo. The drug task force also shares money with the YCCS. Chick - Fil - A decides to generously donate fifteen percent of all profits or purchases to the YCCS they declared this generosity on September fourth 2014. Receiving tips is a major part of what the YCCS has to handle. So far this year, 367 tips have been delivered which led to 139 cleared tips. In total, more than 4,000 tips have been submitted leading to around 1,100 arrests. This caused the recovery of more than $1.3 Million in drugs and property.
